IN-N-OUT MARKET™ Employee Handbook & Corporate Policies

The information in this handbook describes many of your responsibilities as an employee and acquaints you with IN-N-OUT MARKET™. You should read, understand and comply with all provisions.
THE INFORMATION LISTED HERE DOES NOT CREATE A CONTRACT OF EMPLOYMENT. EMPLOYMENT AT IN-N-OUT MARKET™. AS KNOWN AS IN-N-OUT MARKET™ IS "AT WILL" AND THERE IS NO SPECIFIED LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT. AS AN AT-WILL EMPLOYEE, EITHER YOU OR IN-N-OUT MARKET™ AS KNOWN AS IN-N-OUT MARKET™ CAN TERMINATE THE EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP AT WILL, WITH OR WITHOUT CAUSE, WITH OR WITHOUT NOTICE.
No employee policy can anticipate every circumstance or question. IN-N-OUT MARKET™ reserves the right to revise, supplement, suspend or rescind any policy from time to time. You will receive notice of any such changes, but you may not receive notice in advance of the change. If any provision in this handbook conflicts with any provisions of law, it shall be modified to comply with the applicable provisions of statutes, state or federal, now in effect or passed in the future.

Business Ethics & Compliance
IN-N-OUT MARKET™ we treat each other with respect and dignity. You and your ideas create value and success for IN-N-OUT MARKET™. We must value and respect the unique character and contribution of each Team Member and guest. This means that all Team Members are entitled to a work environment that is free of harassment and discrimination. Failing to treat each other with dignity, respect and fairness is damaging to an effective work environment and could be grounds for termination.
Harassment and discrimination take many forms, including:

Unwelcome remarks, gestures or physical contact

The display or circulation of offensive, derogatory or sexually explicit pictures or other materials, including by email and on the internet

Offensive or derogatory jokes, language or comments (explicit or by innuendo)

Verbal or physical abuse or threats

Emails, materials or other communication which includes inappropriate or derogatory, racial, ethic, or religious slurs or stereotypes
Customer Service
Employees should treat customers to a pleasant retail experience to ensure that we retain their patronage. Example of this would be smiling, looking at the customers and saying the following: "Welcome to IN-N-OUT MARKET™" when they enter " thank you" after a purchase Employees are expected to be accurate, polite, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the products sold in our stores.
Use of Electronic Devices and Personal Items
No electronic devices and other distractions such as: Books, MP3s players, iPods, iPads, or other electronic devices, or photography, video, audio recording, USB, or music/gaming devices are not allowed during work hours. They must be either turned off or be silent and put away in a locker or designated drawer assigned by the manager. Not following such a policy may count against you and may lead to disciplinary action or termination.
During work hours, you are expected to have your full attention on your work. Use of electronic devices can interfere with your productivity, distract others and create unsafe working conditions.
Exceptions: Only when necessary and when you get permission from your manager and/or owner you may use your phone for work related instances such as:
Social Media Policy
In line with use of electronic devices accessing social media, posting related to company or anything from company or about company is prohibited. Employees should not share any information regarding company or anything related to company on social media unless approved promotion or information approved by management. Employees should get management permission for postings related to company or business.
Purchase Policy
Employees can purchase goods, snacks or service that we offer only when they are not on clock. They should purchase before or after their shift and retain receipt for proof of purchase. Employees must pay first before opening or consuming it. This policy may change case by case basis and must be approved by management for any change or request. On some items employees may receive discounts as employee discounts. But each transaction of that nature must be approved by management. Employees must store their purchase item properly when on clock and must take home with them when they are not working. You Can't Purchase the Lottery Ticket or Play COAM Machines at If you are employed at any of the IN-N-OUT MARKET STORES.
Effective Immediately
To ensure proper documentation and accountability for employee purchases, the following procedure must be followed:

Cashier Notification: If an employee wishes to purchase any items from the store, they must inform another cashier at the register.

Checkout Process: The purchasing employee must have the other cashier ring up their items.

Receipt Attachment: At the end of their shift, the employee must attach the purchase receipt to their paperwork.

Compliance: Failure to adhere to this policy may result in disciplinary action.
Duties
All employees will be responsible for handling money and serving customers. Employees will also be responsible for general cleaning, including floors, tables, windows, doors, countertops, fountain area, coffee, parking lot, gas pumps, trash cans, bathrooms, and other cleaning that is required or told by management.
Sanitary Practices
All employees must follow sanitary practices: Come to work clean and practice good hygiene. Keep hands away from the face, hair and other areas of the body that could lead to product contamination. Wash hands after using the restroom. Keep clothing as clean as possible.
Dress Code
All employees must wear IN-N-OUT MARKET™ shirts, name tags and khaki, Jeans or Black Leggings during work hours. Employees should wear closed-toed shoes. Company shirts are to be laundered by employees and kept neat in appearance. Employees must always present a clean, professional appearance. Everyone is expected to be well-groomed and wear clean clothing, free of odder, holes, tears, and/or other signs of wear. Clothing with offensive or inappropriate designs or stamps are not allowed. Clothing should not be too revealing or too tight. Employees must purchase IN-N-OUT MARKET™ t-shirts which are $10 each with a minimum of 2.
Attendance and Punctuality
Timely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance for all IN-N-OUT MARKET™ employees. To ensure adequate staffing, positive employee morale, and to meet expected productivity standards throughout the organization, employees will be held accountable for adhering to their workplace schedule. In the event an employee is unable to meet this expectation, he/she must obtain approval from their supervisor in advance of any requested schedule changes. This approval includes requests to use appropriate accruals, as well as late arrivals to or early departures from work. Departments have discretion to evaluate extraordinary circumstances of a tardy absence or failure to clock-in or clock-out and determine whether or not to count the incident as termination of employment. If a retail employee is unable to report to work at the scheduled time, that employee is expected to contact the supervisor to inform him or her of the anticipated arrival time. If an employee is unable to work, it is that employee's responsibility to find a replacement and notify the supervisor/manager. If an employee is absent from work due to an illness or injury, he or she is required to obtain a doctor's statement to return to work. Unscheduled absences place an unfair burden on coworkers, and it's not accepted. Any employee who is absent for three working days without notification is deemed to have resigned voluntarily. Employees will receive warnings for the first two unscheduled absences.
Personal Conduct
Employees must maintain discipline and proper ethical standards of conduct at all times. Conduct that we find unacceptable in the workplace but not limited to:

Physical violence in the workplace

Loud verbal arguments in the workplace

Fighting/arguing
-
Insubordination
-
Falsification of time records

Reporting to work under the influence of drugs or alcohol

Being rude to customers
Alcohol/Tobacco and Drug Use & Sales
Employees are prohibited from working or operating company equipment while under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, narcotics, substances or chemicals not medically prescribed. Using, possessing, having in one's bodily system, distributing, selling or being under the influence of controlled substances, unauthorized drugs or narcotics while on IN-N-OUT MARKET™ retail property or during work time will result in disciplinary action, up to and including immediate dismissal and criminal charges against each individual involved. If a prescribed medication causes drowsiness or otherwise impairs the employee's ability to perform assigned duties, the employee must notify his or her supervisor immediately. Law prohibits sales of alcoholic beverages, CBD, Tobacco & Nicotine products and other restricted items to anyone underage of 21. It's the sole responsibility of employees on the clock / behind the counter to enforce that. PROOF OF VALID ID IS REQUIRED FOR ALL THOSE ITEM LISTED ABOVE. NO EXCEPTION.
Solicitation
Employees are prohibited from engaging in solicitation or distribution of any materials not related to the business during work time. Employees are not allowed to reveal financial information or any other company information, documents or other nonpublic information. Doing such will be grounds for termination or further disciplinary actions.
Pay Days
Employees will be Paid Bi-Weekly.
Requesting Time Off
Employees must inform their supervisors if family or medical leave is necessary. For an anticipated leave, employees must give as much notice as possible. their supervisor on when and for how long they expect to be absent. If an employee is unable to request leave due to his or her own serious health condition, another family member or responsible party may give notification instead.
Terminating Employment
IN-N-OUT MARKET™ asks that employees give at least two weeks' notice if they plan to terminate their employment. This notice should be in writing, indicating the reasons for leaving and the termination date.
Whistleblower Protections
If and when employees see wrongdoing within the company (such as stealing, lying, or fraud) they should report it to management and supervisor immediately. They can report anonymously without revealing their identity. Reporting such incidents is important. IN-N-OUT MARKET™ will not retaliate against reporting employees and will investigate all reported incidents thoroughly and may report to law enforcement if any laws were broken on behalf of any of the employees.
Workplace Safety
Safety of employees, customers and vendors is topmost priority for us. Employees are responsible for using safe work practices. These include but are not limited to:

All employees are responsible for watching and keeping eyes on the parking lot, customers and their vehicles. For safety and security reasons do not allow anyone in or around the premises for more than 10 minutes, hanging around the parking lot, hanging around inside store, or blocking pumps without purchasing gas. Report to authorities if needed.

No weapons are to be brought into the workplace. Weapons are defined as firearms, knives with blades of 2 inches in length or more, explosives, chemical agents or other such devices that may be used as a weapon.

No employee shall threaten or bring harm to others.

All employees are required to report any and all threats and/or acts of violence to their supervisor.

All employees are responsible for cooperating in the investigation of threats and/or acts of violence in our workplace.

All employees are responsible for reporting any breach of security in our workplace.

All exits are to be maintained free of encumbrances.

All employees must go through CLASS C Georgia 'Environmental Protection training for safety and security of pumps and fuel safety. Training will be on site and Class A/B Operator will train and certify all new employees

Employees should use common sense to safeguard themselves and their personal / belongings.

Missing items should be reported to the supervisor/manager at once.

Phone numbers of other employees must never be given to people outside the company.

All IN-N-OUT MARKET™ stores are smoke-free areas. Employees must avoid smoking near buildings, front doors, gas pumps, and gas tanks.
Our workplace is defined as all owned or leased buildings, parking lots, use of company owned or leased vehicles or use of the employee's vehicles on company business. The definition is extended to include business conducted at all customers' or business associates' properties and the course of community activities as a representative for IN-N-OUT MARKET™.

Pledge to Read: I hereby acknowledge that I will read the IN-N-OUT MARKET™ Employee Handbook & Corporate Policies and will become familiar with its contents.
Locations of the Handbook: I acknowledge that I received a printed copy of IN-N-OUT MARKET™ Employee Handbook & Corporate Policies. Also, I have been informed that the handbook is available via a printed copy from Human Resources or management.
Notification of Future Changes: It is my responsibility to read and comply with the policies and procedures contained in the handbook. I understand that the policies and procedures contained in the handbook may change without prior notice. I understand that efforts will be made to communicate significant changes in a timely manner and that such revisions may supersede, modify, or eliminate existing policies, procedures, the handbook may be reprinted from time to time, and l will be notified that a printed copy will be made available to me, without the need to sign this form again.
No Contract Implied & Rights of Employment Termination: I acknowledge that the IN-N-OUT MARKET™ Employee Handbook & Corporate Policies is not a contract of employment. I further understand that either IN-N-OUT MARKET™ can terminate the employment relationship at any time with or without notice.
Authority of the Handbook: I understand that the handbook is not a legal document. I understand I should consult my supervisor or Human Resources regarding any questions not answered in the handbook.
